TROPICAL STORM KIRK NEARING THE LESSER
ANTILLES Kirk to move across the central and
northern Lesser Antilles later today. The
Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service
continues to monitor the progress of Tropical
Cyclone Kirk as it nears the Lesser
Antilles. At 5:00 am today, Tropical Storm Kirk
was located near 13.5N 58.3W or about 135km
East-Northeast of Barbados and moving towards the
West-Northwest at 26 km/h with maximum sustained
winds of 85km/hr. No change in intensity is
expected within the next 12 hours and Kirk is
expected to weaken thereafter and degenerate into
a remnant low after 72 hours or sooner. Summary
of watches and warnings in effect as of 5:00
am: Tropical Storm Warning: • Barbados •
St. Lucia • Dominica • Martinique •
Guadeloupe Tropical Storm Watch: • St.
Vincent and The Grenadines ON THE CURRENT
FORECAST TRACK, TROPICAL STORM KIRK POSES NO
DIRECT THREAT TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. An update
to this will be issued at 6 am tomorrow (28th
September 2018) or sooner if the situation
warrants. WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS
TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL
STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING. As always, pay
